In addition to benefiting future retirees and pensioners, the agreement that enabled the adjustment of the PREVI Part (PP) for Benefit Plan 1 was also positive for the 18.400 people of the Plan who were already receiving the benefit. This group, which includes the retirements granted as from 12/24/1997 and the resulting pensions, had the benefits revised. Even with the formalization of the Agreement in May of 2006, the payment of the difference was retroactive to December of 2005, month in which the negotiations were concluded.
The Agreement was signed by the Banco do Brasil and all the unions in the country, represented by the São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília Bank Employee Labor Unions, and with PREVI's consent.
With the adjustment, the new PP is now R$ 1,468.21. The previous value was R$ 2,200.06. The PP is now readjusted annually in accordance with the salary variation, and is used to calculate the benefit. In short, the lower its value, the larger the complement to be paid by PREVI.
