In order to present the 2003 Activities Report were organized meetings with associates in 11 cities of Brazil. Members of the Executive Board paired up, as a way to be present to most of the meetings in the different cities. On those events, the most important figures and activities developed in 2003 were reported to associates. After the seminars, board members always answered associates' questions.

The voting process for the two chairs of the Advisory Council and their corresponding replacements, and a chair on the Fiscal Council (and replacement) occurred in the May 10th to 27th period.

In order to ensure the participation of the greater number of associates, as well as their safety, a telephone voting system was implemented, for retired and pension fund associates, plus e-voting was also made available at the Sisbb terminals and ATMs. Also, internal PREVI and BANCO DO BRASIL, as well as external (hired), auditors were recruited to certify as to the legitimacy of the voting process. On the publication of the election results, PREVI made available to candidates and supporters a whole special edition and part of the regular edition of the PREVI BULLETIM.

In 2004, over 902,570 customers were assisted via automatic services (website and 0800 toll free phone), and 412,721 were assisted by the Central Phone System, e-mails, Sisbb, letters and in-person.

The year’s communication focus was on the promotion of PREVI’S 100th Anniversary Celebrations, on the financial statements to associates, on new actions implemented by the Boards, on the electoral process, and on the Nova Carim project.

100th Anniversary Project

Besides the 100th Anniversary Celebration at Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, on April 16th, PREVI also organized special celebration events in other seven cities. On such events the cities’ youngest and eldest associates were honored. To fully celebrate the Anniversary, a commemorative book and videotape were produced, among other initiatives.

Internet

PREVI’s website premiered a brand new look in 2004, with an exclusive area for notes on the 100th Anniversary Celebrations. On the new site more information and a new, improved, search system were made available. Furthermore, the new design of the site allows for a much better connection to PREVI systems, making all procedures easier, and granting faster access to each associate’s data. In order to better exploit all of the web’s possibilities, PREVI hired an expert web co. to manage our e-mail bank.

Activities

The activities of the Communications Sector also encompass the PREVI Bulletin, the real-time news disclosed on the Bank’s and on PREVI’s Newsletters, as well as the special Newsletter faxed to the functional entities of BB. Our Publicist reported around 173 journalists assisted.

Previ Futuro Marketing Plan

PREVI Futuro requires special attention with regards to the promotion of its characteristics and advantages among new bank employees that might wish to join. For that reason, a specific Marketing Plan is disclosed every year, along with detailed information material to be used on the new employees approach.

Previ Card

The PREVI card is the ID of associates and their families, including pensioners. The photo card works as an ID pass for retired employees’ general access to Banco do Brasil’s facilities, excluding restricted access areas. In 2004, 8,120 no-photo cards, 1.048 photo cards for retired associates, 507 family members’ cards, and 1.176 pensioners cards were issued.

The card also offers associates the advantages of Clube de Benefícios, with discounts and other conveniences in more than 200 commercial and entertainment businesses. The list of participating companies is sent to associates and pensioners every semester and is also available on PREVI’s website. In 2004 new partnership deals were signed with Ponto Frio, Electrolux, PlayArt Pictures, BlockBuster, among many others.
