Parameters and methodology

This report is intended to describe in a clear and concise form the most relevant information concerning PREVI's management and the results achieved by them when dealing with the most meaningful direct and indirect facts which impacted their operations.

The data and information presented below are based on 2009 results; however, whenever possible, this report refers also to the last few years. Its purpose is to facilitate the understanding of the contexture and the process which produced last year's results.

The ascertainment of such information was based on the guidelines established for the elaboration of the Sustainability Reports G3 of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative).

The information relative to PREVI's management and the performance data directly attributed to it, take into account all operations of that entity as well as its structure during the period under review. Any exception to the above - like the non consideration of any process or the circumscription of a certain datum to a period other than the one hereto referred - is duly indicated along this publication.

In addition to the information relative to PREVI's management, this report comes with a section that describes the management aspects and the performance data referring to the main companies and real estate ventures in which PREVI has invested. The reason for selecting the companies and real estate ventures under consideration in this report was based upon the criteria of representation and importance of such investments to PREVI; were considered only those companies counting in their boards with members appointed by PREVI or in which PREVI has a significant participation in their stock capital, plus the largest real estate ventures, the large commercial buildings, or shopping centers.

The performance data of those companies and ventures are usually displayed in two-year charts. Those relative to 2009, however, due to accounting procedures and of the delay in the availability of data, in some cases considers only the closing numbers of the first semester or those relative the year's third quarter.

All information concerning companies and real estate ventures were obtained through a questionnaire send to them electronically. In all, 36 companies and 25 real estate ventures were invited to reply. Around 85% of them agreed to our request and answered, at least partially, our questions.

The definition as to the indicators to be reported and the contents to be included in the report was made after consulting PREVI's main stakeholders, as described in further detail ahead.
