08. Financial-Actuarial Profit and Loss Statement

8.1: The Profit and Loss statement prepared based on the comparison between the amounts attained and expected for Benefit Plan 1, presented the following results on 12/31/2007:

8.2 : The results obtained according to the previous item are due mainly to three factors, with the following observations:

a) Pension Incomes and Expenses: contributions generated an actuarial gain of R$ 89, 5 million and expenses generated an actuarial loss of R$ 283,5 million;

b) Income for Imminent Risks: we have observed that even after an expressive number of participants having accepted the PAA - Anticipated Severance Plan - offered by Banco do Brasil in May 2007, there are nearly 7,000 participants that even after complying with the requirements for obtaining the programmed benefit (particularly the anticipated benefit), they have remained in this plan as active participants. That situation generated an actuarial gain of R$326, 2 million.

c) Capital Gains: The investment assets exceeded by R$ 16, 84 billion the actuarial needs for balancing this plan.
