19. Technical Balance
Benefit Plan Plano 1
The 2007 results, amounting to R$18,131,454 thousand, added to the accumulated ones until 2006, totaling R$34,806,387 thousand, built up the total accumulated surplus of R$52,937,840 thousand, resulting in a coverage ratio of 1.85 % over the actuarial commitments.
a) Contingency Reserve
Registers the Asset Amount in excess of the actuarial commitments up to the limit of 25 % of Mathematical Provisions. In December 2007, the amount registered in this account reached R$15,520,400 thousand (R$14,264,323 thousand in 2006).
b) Reserve for Plan Revision:
Registers an Asset Amount in excess of the actuarial commitments that exceeds 25 % of the Mathematical Reserves. In December 2007, the amount registered under that caption reached R$37,417,440 thousand (R$20,542,064 thousand in 2006).
c) Benefit Plan PREVI Futuro
Since it is a Variable Contribution Plan, it is not supposed to show a surplus / deficit, but merely residual variations of its actuarial rates when applied to Part I, where the risk benefits that refer to the Defined Benefit system are calculated.
