Message from the Departmental Boards
Plano 1's Advisory Board
Created through the statutory reform of 2006, in accordance to Resolution of the Council for the Administration of Complementary Pension Plans which deals with the institution of Administrative Proceedings for each Pension Plan, this Board is in charge of looking after the interest of the 123,840 participants in Plan 1.
Being a Board linked to a mature plan closed since 1997 and with assets in excess of 137 billion of Reais, our responsibility is much greater. In addition to reinforcing the democratic character of PREVI's management, of exercising an accurate and permanent supervision upon its management, not letting its activities mingle with those of the other organs of Caixa de Providência, this Board endeavors to identify the legitimate interests of the participants in Plan 1 and to bring them to discussion within that institution.
In 2007, we held four quarterly meetings during which we discussed the important subjects and analyzed PREVI's figures and investments as well as the destination of the surplus.
However, since the watch keeps clicking, we need already dedicate ourselves to study the challenges that we will face in 2008. The great debate will be our utilization of the Special Reserve. In the meantime, it is important to perfect the management of our assets, for our commitments grow expressively every year.
