Savings Fund (Peculio) Portfolio - Capec

During 2007 several actions helped us to make the Savings Fund Portfolio (Sole Payment Benefit Plan) even more attractive and increase the number of applications, particularly by the youngest employees. Thus, we lowered the average age of the participants of this portfolio and consequently the risks in this Plan decreased.

Larger savings funds with smaller contributions

In April 2007, Capec implemented a new table of amounts thanks to the positive results obtained in that portfolio. The amounts of those Savings Funds increased by 5 % and most contributions to funds redeemable due to death were reduced.

The reduction in the number of cancellations and the increase in applications as a result of those measures is shown in the table below:

Modernization of Capec in PREVI's site

In August 2007, the accessibility of information about Capec in PREVI's site was refurbished and modernized becoming not only easier to consult but also interactive. That change produced immediate effects since registrations via internet increased as can be noticed in the table below.

Agreement closed with Banco do Brasil

During August 2007, on occasion of the celebration of the PREVI meeting with all the Gepes in this country, an agreement was signed to divulge and promote the enrollment in Capec of new employees right from the moment when they initiate their career at Banco do Brasil.

Revision of regulations

Capec new regulations are still pending approval by SPC to become effective. That revision intended to make Capec similar to a Benefit Plan, to clarify rules and to add some additional benefits, such as the segmentation of the Disability and Spouse Plans, in addition to improving the existing savings plans, facilitate the admission and expedite payments.

Costa do Sauípe Campaign

Costa do Sauípe Campaign was implemented in November last, with a view to increase the number of enrollments in Capec and to stimulate the migration to Savings Plans redeemable on occasion of death, with higher amounts. Already in the first month of campaign, the enrollments doubled compared to the previous month and cancellations were reduced by 50%. After two months, this campaign resulted in the admission of 233 new participants in Capec.
